TakeAlign brings footage from different cameras and external audio recorders into one connected timeline. Sync your recordings, review their alignment, then export an XML timeline to continue editing.

No. TakeAlign prepares your recordings for the edit. Keep using your preferred compatible editing software for cutting, grading and finishing.

The interactive website presentation uses example footage to show the interface. It does not sync your files or save a real XML export. The desktop app is where you work with your own recordings.

No. TakeAlign offers timecode sync, intelligent audio matching and QR Sync. The options available depend on what your recordings contain.

Review the alignment and export your timeline as Final Cut Pro 7 XML. Direct import has been tested with Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Other editors must support this format. Modern Final Cut Pro requires a separate conversion to FCPXML; that workflow has not yet been tested with TakeAlign. Check the export workflow.

Yes. Inspect the timeline, preview your recordings and review the confidence information. You remain in control of the result you take into the edit.

Seven days, with every feature included, including XML export. Create an account and confirm your email address, then download TakeAlign. The trial starts when you deliberately activate it in the app, not when you visit the website or download the installer.

No. The trial needs an account with a confirmed email address, but no payment details. Newsletter signup is optional and separate.

Activate your trial online first. You can then use the app offline for the remaining trial period. Going offline does not extend the seven days. If the app cannot reliably verify the remaining time, it will ask you to reconnect briefly.

There is no automatic charge. You can still access your projects, but starting new syncs and exports requires a subscription. Your original files and previously exported timelines remain yours. A sync or export already in progress is allowed to finish.

The trial is limited to one per Mac. Reinstalling the app or creating another account does not start another trial.

Every feature for one person, with two activated Macs. The license is for use on one Mac at a time. You can move between your two Macs without manually signing out on the other one.

Every feature for your team, with five activated Macs in total, usable at the same time. One account owner manages billing and invites team members with their own sign-ins. If a person uses two Macs, those occupy two of the five places.

Yes, for up to seven days after the last successful online license check on each Mac. An offline laptop does not prevent you from using your other activated Mac. Reconnect to renew the offline period. After it expires, projects remain accessible, but new syncs and exports require an online check. Work already in progress is not interrupted.

Deactivate the old Mac in the app or in your account, then activate the replacement online. If you cannot access your old Mac, use your account to manage its activation. Support can help if you get stuck.

Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at any time to stop the next renewal. Access continues until the end of your paid period. The free trial does not automatically become a paid subscription.

Yes. The iOS companion app is free and currently requires no account. It displays the timestamp you capture with your camera; the desktop app handles your recordings.

Yes. Record the entire iPhone display in focus for at least 3–5 seconds, avoiding glare. After your first sync in TakeAlign, tick the QR selection boxes for those clips, check the QR counter and run Resync. QR processing runs only on selected clips during Resync to keep the first sync fast. See the QR Sync workflow.
